To maintain our independence and flexibility, MSF relies on the general public for most of its funds.

At all times, MSF directs at least 80% of its revenue to fund its programme activities. A minimum of 80 cents from every dollar is spent supporting field operations, which provide medical assistance to populations in distress around the world, and on bearing witness activities in Canada and overseas.

Email scams and hoaxes

Unfortunately, some of our supporters have been receiving scam emails claiming to want to reimburse donations. This is not an MSF communication - someone is using our name to try to con the public into giving their details.

Do not reply to these emails. If you are in doubt about an email, please feel free to contact us at donorrelations@msf.ca or 1-800-982-7903 .

How can you tell which emails are fake?

Emails from MSF Canada will always end with @msf.ca or @toronto.msf.org.

Any financial or personal information you provide MSF when making a donation is carefully safeguarded by MSF and used only for the purposes for which it was given.

Matching Funds for Pakistan Floods Relief

To ensure our independence, MSF’s operations in Pakistan are funded entirely by private donations from donors like you. MSF does not accept any government money for our work in the country, including any matching funds offered through the Canadian government’s Pakistan Floods Relief Fund.

MSF has been in Pakistan for over a decade. The country is among the most dangerous places in the world where MSF works. Over the years, we've negotiated our presence on the basis of independence from all warring parties. For MSF, independence means being able to work wherever necessary, based solely on medical needs. In Pakistan, in order to be able to have access to the population, we must do everything we can to maintain our independence. This includes continuing to not accept institutional funds from, or being associated with, any government in any way, which could affect others' perceptions of our motivations.

Door and Sidewalk Talk

MSF joined forces with a team of Public Outreach representatives to talk about Partners Without Borders, our monthly giving programme.

Our representatives are easily identifiable by their photo ID badge. Please be assured that any personal information provided remains confidential and will be used only for the purpose in which it was obtained. All donation forms, credit card or banking information are forwarded directly to MSF. Year-end income tax receipts for your cumulative donations will be mailed directly from MSF Canada in February.

If you haven't yet had the opportunity to meet one of our representatives in your neighborhood, you can still join the Partners Without Borders programme by signing up online. It's safe, easy and convenient.
