Gaza – January 27, 2009
Riyad, 19, is from the northern town of Beit Lahia, more precisely from Al Atatra; an area that was particularly hit by the Israeli incursion into Gaza. On the 5th of January, he was severely wounded by an Israeli rocket and doctors had to amputate his left leg. Two weeks after the ceasefire, he now attends the MSF post-operative clinic in Gaza City to follow a physiotherapeutic treatment. Read Riyad’s story: “Trauma, Loss and Survival”

Riyad, 19 ans, est originaire de la ville de Beit Lahia, dans le nord de la bande de Gaza, et plus précisément d’Al Atatra, une zone particulièrement touchée lors de la dernière offensive militaire israélienne. Le 5 janvier, il a été grièvement blessé par un tir d’obus. Sa jambe gauche a dû être amputée. Il est désormais suivi à la clinique MSF de la ville de Gaza où il bénéficie de soins post-opératoires.
